The cadet is a class of sailing dinghy designed to be sailed by two children up to the age of 17. it is a one-design class, originally designed by jack holt in 1947. cadets are sailed worldwide in more than 40 countries.. From beginner to aspiring olympian, the rya cadet class is the worlds’ most successful 2 person training dinghy specifically designed for children and young people. to support all levels of cadet sailors the ukncca have established and run training squads supported by coaches with national and world honours.. Technical section the cadet is a one-design boat and therefore all cadets have the same, strictly controlled, measurements. while material and appearance changed over time, the hull shape remained the same.. — develop and implement plans for boat stations for northern & north west areas. 5 working with architects, relph ross deliver a great sea cadet experience. this property strategy and the investment it seeks to make in boat stations underpin aim three of our vision & strategy: ensuring a nautical focus.. In 1974 jack gutierrez, an rbyc club member and boat builder, recognised the virtues of fibreglass construction materials and after much deliberation and difference of view it was decided to build a hull mould and produce the 12 foot cadet dinghy in this new and maintenance-free ‘modern’ material..
